The esteem office of a VFW Post Commander is a very challenging position. The Commander must strictly enforce observance of all regulations which governs the VFW organization, as well as those of his/her Post. This includes stringent adherence to the Congressional Charter, Manual of Procedures and Ritual, and the By-laws of their unique specific VFW Post. He has to ensure accurate reporting always transpires and his staff of officers are accountable for their respective duties. The Post Commander presides at all Post related meetings while enforcing the rules, maintaining order, and will appoint committees, where applicable. The health and well-being of the VFW Post are confidently entrusted into his/her hands.

 

For year 2023-2024, VFW Post 6734, a routinely awarded Post has elected as Post Commander that exact leader, highly capable of  fulfilling these responsibilities with ex-Marine Sergeant David Griffin. His leadership has been exceptional, and just the spark out Post needed. Commander Griffin was re-elected Post Commander for 2024-2025 as a result of his superior performance in that chair. As a Non-commissioned Officer during his tenure with the U.S. Marines, Post Commander Griffin was a stellar leader. Repeatedly demonstrating excellence and composure even within dark, chaotic, combative environments. He is known as a well-liked, and highly respected member of the Post 6734 staff, which included Past Post House Committee Chairman. His leadership led to admirable improvements while as the head of this highly important Post Committee. There is no doubt, VFW Post 6734 will continue to be in good hands as he has now extended his tenure. VFW Post 6734 Commander David Griffin.

"During my time as Post Commander, I would like  to see the Charles F. Gandy Jr. VFW Post 6734 and its Comrades working together, side-by-side, to help our veterans. Our mission is, and always should be, to help veterans in any capacity we can...PERIOD! I would also like our older comrades to share their knowledge with new comrades coming into the Charles F. Gandy Jr. Post 6734. As we grow, I would like to see Post 6734 move into the 21st century. We should be updating and modernizing our building and all the equipment within it. We cannot succeed continuing to do the things as we have in the past. We must be open to change. I thank all for your continued support of the Charles F. Gandy Jr. VFW Post 6734... Semper fidelis!"
