VFW POST 6734 QUARTERMASTER JEFFREY "JEFF" HUNTER

Post 6734 is indeed honored to have this highly unique, and definitely highly involved Comrade, Quartermaster Jeff Hunter. His VFW involvement is far beyond that of a typical Quartermaster. Hunter takes his Quartermaster duties as sincerely important. So important, in fact, this is his second tenure as Post 6734 Quartermaster. The essential, distinctive Post position, became available after a questionable departure by the Past Quartermaster. Post 6734 was blessed to have available in its ranks as  Jeff, without hesitation, stepped in. Forever readily available, he immediately stepped up to the podium, volunteering himself for this task once again. His capacity of Post Quartermaster has not gone unrecognized as he has received an unprecedented 3 Awards, under the tenures of 3 diffierent Post Commanders.

Comrade Hunter is also a Past Post Commander of 6734 and did an outstanding job in that capacity as well. Membership increased and our financials abunded while under his tenure as 6734 Post Commanmder. He has also served admirably as South Carolina District 4 Commander for 3 and one-half years. While there, he was awarded with a pretigious District Commander All-American Award for his excellence. Adding to his honorary awards are additional Post All-American, and All-State Awards. Proving, without a doubt, that excellence, hard work and stern commitment does, in fact, pay off. All you need to do is be committed to stay on the trail, as he does.

Jeff is also state Serve Safe Certified which allows his committed assistanance to the Post House Committee volunteering for any capacity of those very vital Post fundraiser events and assistance. Furthering his VFW committment, he is a member of the highly recognized Post 6734 Honor Guards. Participating in sacred ceremonies of laying to final rest those veteran heroes who have done their job while putting their lives and health in jeopardy, to preserve America's democracy. And that democracy has been severely challenged, far too many times, throughout our nation's history. Thanks to our servicemen and women, who stood strong at meeting those challenges. They were always successfully turned back those harmful aggressors. Honor Guard Hunter fulfills his duty to ensure these heroes will go off into the Heavens ...fully honored! Not surprisingly, Jeff also had served as Captain of the Post Honor Guard for a number of years.

A South Carolina native of the Upstate, Jeff is a member of a highly patriotic family. There are four brothers within his family. All, including Jeff served long careers in the U.S. Navy. Each has served an impressive enlistment until full retirement. It's just another indication of his steadfast committment. Once on board with an endeavor, he has always proven all-out commitment, forever staying the course until the full term has been accomplished. Just as he is now doing within the VFW. A glaring example is, in addition to serving with the South Carolina District 4, he is now filling the significant role of VFW South Carolina State Inspector. Ensuring each Post within the entire state fully operates in accordance with the prescribed By-Laws and procedures of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Organization.

Maybe his most important contribution to Post 6734 is with being that unique voice of reason during monthly Post meetings. Each member of the Post is allowed to speak their particular ideas and opinions, but some will trted the dangerous outside boundaries of the health of the Post at times. Jeff continues to be steadfast with always speaking in the limits of the By-Laws to those out of the procedure opinions. His voice of "checks and corrections," at every meeting, is very vital to the overall health and well-being of the Post 6734. Protecting the Post, is in fact another aspect of a "Veteran Helping Veterans." VFW Posts, including that of 6734, must always be kept on the right track within alignment of VFW rules and regulations. Severe penalties, and even Post enclosures, will ensue otherwise. Thank you Comrade Hunter for all you do, and for the good of VFW Post 6734.... KEEP IT COMING!
