What is Veterans Day?
The holiday is very often confused by non-veterans with Memorial Day... VETERANS DAY is a U.S. holiday dedicated to American veterans of ALL wars. This year (2024) Veterans Day will be observed by our nation on Monday, November 11, 2024.
The holiday was first created on November 11, 1918, on the 11th hour of day, the 11th day of the 11th month of the year, when a temporary cessation of battles, and all hostilities was ended by all fighting nations worldwide.
On November 11, 1938, the United States declared Veterans Day a national holiday in memory of the end of WWI, othewrwise known as "THE GREAT WAR!"
IN REMEMBRANCE OF VETERANS DAY VFW POST 6734 WILL CONDUCT A VETERANS DAY BREAKFAST FROM 8 AM TO 11 AM...AT VFW POST 6734!
